Various cultures over the centuries have embraced poetry in innumerable ways. Poetry has always been a magnificent part of culture and literature over different parts of the world. There is no wonder that societies and culture dedicate days to poetry and their most prized poets and writers, as poetry is a highly celebrated art.

Some poets are so predominant that their work and the message they tried portraying their poems become global celebrations. One such example is the ‘Rumi Day’ which is celebrated in the name of Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī. Popularly known as Rumi, this day celebrates the life and works of the poet. 

 

 

 

History

Rumi was born in 1207 and during his early life was an Islamic Jurist before finally turning to poetry at the age of 37. Although he became a poet at a later age of his life than most poets, that certainly never held him back. Majority of his works are written in Persian and were sent across the borders. His works were appreciated by many different nationalists and ethnicities and managed to build up a sizeable audience across Iran, Persia, Turkey, and Greece.

How to celebrate Rumi Day.

One of the best ways to celebrate Rumi day is to enjoy and read Rumi’s enduring poetry and works. Bookshops have a wholesome collection of Rumi’s poetry, you can always visit your nearby bookstore to enlighten your souls with his poetry. You may also find his famous works online and wouldn’t have to spend a penny! Only Breath is one of his famous and all-time favourite poems.

Another way to celebrate this day is by conducting a reading of his poems. This way you may be able to bring your friends and family together and appreciate his enduring poems together. Celebrating this day may open you to his works and somewhere you may relate to his incredible verses!

International Translation Day

In an effort to promote the translation profession in different countries and to show solidarity of the worldwide translation community, 30th September is recognized as the International Translation Day. To display pride in a profession that is becoming increasingly essential in the era of progressing globalization, International Translation Day is celebrated.

History

The International Translation Day was first launched in 1953 by the International Federation of Translators. The annual celebration is a chance to pay tribute to the work of translators who endeavour to make the world a better place by breaking down language barriers and allowing great literature to be enjoyed far more widely. 30 September celebrates the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator, considered to be the patron saint of translators, hence it is also celebrated as the International Translation Day, appreciating the work of Translators. 

How to celebrate International Translation Day

This day can be celebrated by a series of dedicated events, seminars and symposiums across the world. Translation Day is about what are words about and not just words. Paying close attention to regional and cultural differences—factors that stand at the very core of what effective and accurate translation entails, a translator’s profession includes decades of effort and education.

This day can also be celebrated by thanking the company who provide international translations all over the world. 

National Love People Day

30th September is celebrated as National Love people Day and the purpose of the day is to celebrate love without any exceptions. ‘Love to everyone without exception’ is the motto of this day. This day aims at – to display unconditional love and to express it with kind words and thoughtful deeds to make the world a better place. 

History

National Love People Day lifts others through the profound power of unconditional love. This day was founded by the Lifeline Church out of Chicago, Illinois in 2017 to inspire the spirit of unconditional love as a national event to bring people altogether. The founders of the church – Reggividese and London Royal have impacted the Chicagoland area by showing unconditional and unmerited love for ten years and the pair strongly believes that loving God means loving yourself and loving other people from all walks of life regardless of their colour, religion, caste and creed. 

How to Celebrate National Love People Day

 This day can be celebrated by appreciating, sharing and caring for one another. You can always volunteer in your community and help those in your immediate surroundings. Create sources that demonstrate your love and that of your community. 

Also, giving can be an act of love. You may not have much to give but sometimes all people need is companionship, advice, encouragement or a hug, which are free for giving. Share a message of love and support your fellows.
