The clock never stops, the hands keep rushing at their pace, and we need to keep up with them. Not every day brings in excitement and showers of joy, some days we stumble upon disappointments. But, to stay gloomy and embrace melancholy, or just shatter them with our smile, is all that comes from within. In simple words, we are sad when we choose to be. So, here we bring to you several reasons to make today count and celebrate each day. The Today column brings to you the reasons to celebrate each day!

This day is celebrated on September 20, every year. It is one of two children’s days recognized in Germany every year. While two children’s days are recognized in Germany, both days are celebrated but not by everyone. And the official day, German World Children’s Day is not celebrated unilaterally by German families.

In 1925, the conference held in Switzerland and Geneva declared the 1st of June as International Children’s Day. In 1954, west Germany chose September 20, to celebrate this day but east Germany was continuing with the same of June 1st. In 1990, east and west Germany reunified and they both started celebrating it on September 20. Now there are over 80 countries who celebrate world children a day or universal children day at 50 more dates.

On this day you can make kids happy by throwing a party for them. A party is the proverbial no-brainer thing to do when it comes to celebrating any day that revolves around children. As nowadays all are stuck at their homes, one can also use online systems for them, by arranging online meetings so that kids become happy and you can celebrate their day with them. This day reminds us of children and families around the world are not different from each other, but are the same in terms of love and kindness. This day is full of fun and games and lots of adventures.

National wife appreciation day is celebrated on the third Sunday of September every year. This is the day to show to women how much they mean to us. Our wives keep us grounded and centered. They inspire us to work hard, play hard, and to always have something to bring to the table to show that we’re improving ourselves.

You can make this day more memorable by helping your wife and then arranging a spa for her or by also using a hashtag on social media, #worldwifeappreciationday.

This day is special for all the homemakers out there. Few wives get respect and are honored. This day is for you to express your feelings and your thankfulness towards them. Let us give the women in our life the respect they deserve. The respect they are worthy of and make them feel appreciated each day. Today, is the best opportunity to start this, if you have not done so far.
