World Tsunami Awareness Day

World Tsunami Awareness Day is celebrated on November 5 every year to promote national and local risk reduction plans. According to the UN, by 2030, an estimated 50 percent of the world’s population will live in coastal areas exposed to flooding, storms, and tsunamis. However, Tsunamis are rare events but can be extremely deadly. Therefore, proper plans and policies can reduce the tsunami impact and help build more resilience and protect populations at risk.

History

After the 2004 deadliest Tsunami in the Indian Ocean; The United Nations General Assembly designated November 5 as World Tsunami Awareness Day from December 2015. This day’s basic motive is to increase awareness about the Tsunami among over 700 million people live in low-lying coastal areas and Small Islands.

How to Celebrate?

Many people celebrate Tsunami Awareness Day to reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disrupt basic services. To celebrate today, we could increase the use of early warning systems and resilient infrastructure. Also, educate people to save and protect their assets against tsunami risk in the future.

National Love Your Red Hair Day

On November 5, we celebrate National Red Hair Day. Red Hair symbolizes a fiery personality that is ruled by its passions, a strong-headed person who knows what they want and how to get it. They say the fire inside matches the fire of the hair, and too many red hairs are the very definition of what it means to be Irish. Although, rumors have gone throughout history to describe the redhead. However, Love Your Red Hair Day celebrated on November 5 is the time to revel in your utter gingerness and truly love your red hair.

History

People often do not think Red hair in a positive light. There are jokes made about redheads not having a soul, one that comes directly from an old European myth that the red in their hair is from hell’s stolen fires. However, many people associate it with true and drastic beauty. Although, Cleopatra herself was a redhead. Unsurprising, she was also a fierce manipulator woman and ultimately ruled by her passions. Love Your Red Hair day encourages you to remember the myths and histories of redheads and revel in the strength and beauty often associated with it.

How to celebrate?

Although it comes in various types and styles as any other color, red hair has some peculiarities. But to take advantage of the incredible or a persnickety color, you are best supported by your hairdresser. You can celebrate this day by going out and taking special care of your red hair on Love Your Red Hair Day. Pick up an outfit that truly augments it and let your hairdresser do amazing things with it. Then go party with other redheads and set the world on fire!

National Donuts Day

We celebrate November 5 as the National Donut Day, specifically observed for the Donut lovers across the nation. Donuts come in various shapes, colors, sizes, and toppings, making them more alluring for people. Donuts have a mouth-watering way of glazing and dusting their way into our top list of shopping.

History

The National Donut Day is a little bit harder to find out about. That is because no one knows the origins of this holiday. However, mentions of it go back in copies of Ladies Home Journal printed during the 1930s, yet there are no more mentions of it beyond that. Some people have speculated that the day was probably created by a retail outlet to drive more customers to their Veterans Day sales. However, research claims that donuts were brought to North America by Dutch settlers.

How to celebrate?

As many people will probably note, people who have an extreme liking for donuts celebrate National Donut Day more enthusiastically. Today, you can try to make a homemade flavor donut; fill it with jelly, jam, cream, or anything else for your family. People also organize a party where they only serve donuts. People celebrate it and celebrate it by bringing donuts to work and distributing them to your employees.
