Each day brings in new hope to see life as it wasn’t before. With a few billion people on the planet, striving daily to make a mark, not all birthdays become noteworthy. Henry Kissinger 

Henry kissinger is a popular American politician who came to America from Nazi Germany as a Jewish refugee. He has been serving the country for many decades as of now.  Kissinger is a diplomat, and geopolitical consultant who served as United States Secretary of State and National Security Advisor under the presidential administrations of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. He is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Kissinger received the Nobel Prize for being a major part in negotiating a ceasefire  in VIetnam. He has been termed as a war criminal and als been showered praise for his service as a US Secretary of State.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jamie Oliver 

Jamie is a famous British restauranter and a chef from the British Empire. He has been in the front for organizing many television shows and expanding his restaurant chain. Oliver opened a campaign, Feed Me Better, to help school children have healthy foods. He gave his first TED Talk in 2010 which won him a prize as well. He was honoured with the Member of the Order of the British Empire.

Everyday should be celebrated for what it is, but today is a little special. Today marks the importance of fitness in life.

 

 

Senior health and fitness day

 

Health should be our utmost priority. Not only us, but for everyone around us as well.Today is a day to specially motivate our elders, our grandma grandpa, mother, father and everyone else to actively workout , spend time on their physical self.Eating properly and the right thing is necessary, but having the right amount of exercise is also important. Senior health and fitness day was initiated to make seniors aware of the importance of exercising regularly. Motivate your parents to join in your workout session. Keep it simple so that they feel at the end of it. Start the day with making your elders feel  a lot more fresh than they do everyday. 

The present is a result of our past. Our history is so luxurious and amazing that everything today has a link to something major yesterday.  

1813: Americans capture Fort George, Canada

This was a 3-day battle which began on 25 May 1813. The Americans defeated a British force and captured Fort George in Upper Canada. This battle was a part of the War of 1812. 

1907: The Bubonic Plague breaks out in San Francisco

On this day, a sailor crossing San Francisco Bay on a ferry was diagnosed with bubonic plague. The New York Times wrote the disease increased with such virulence that it looked for a time as if the city were to be decimated as was mediaeval Europe,” in the month of November. 

1919: A U.S. Navy seaplane completes the first transatlantic flight

This was NC-4, which landed in Lisbon harbor after a flight of nine hours, 43 minutes. Thus, the NC-4 became the first aircraft of any kind to fly across the Atlantic Ocean – or any of the other oceans.

1937: San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge opens

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge opened to pedestrian traffic. The next day, vehicles were allowed to cross. The bridge took five years to build, and it was the world’s longest single-span suspension bridge at the time, it was surpassed in 1964 by New York City’s Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. 

1963: Jomo Kenyatta elected 1st Prime Minister of Kenya

Jomo Kenyatta was a Kenyan anti-colonial activist and politician who governed Kenya as a Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964 and then as its first President from 1964 to his death in 1978. 

1969: Construction begins on Walt Disney World in Florida

On this day, May 27, in 1969, construction began on the Walt Disney World Park in Florida, on land purchased incrementally by Disney for the better part of a decade. Walt Disney World opened with a three-day celebration starting in October of 1971.
