We have successfully completed half a year. 2020 is flying by like a shooting star, and here we are at July. It is a long year ahead just like the months that went by. The days that passed have taught us many things and we are going to rock the rest of the months as well. We bring to you the different reasons we should be celebrating each day through this Today column so read on to know why you should.

Along with the sun, each new day brings in a myriad of choices. We are in a crosswalk, deciding to move left or right. What drives the decision? Who shows the way? Which option triumphs over should be a decision of what you would want, rather than what you should do to replace someone and go up to their place. Because,

“With skyscrapers on everyone’s bucket list,

Some lists just dream to have a cottage.

With numbers doing the talk everywhere,

Some just smile at heart each day.

With running races becoming important,

Some create a league of their own.”

S A Sneha

We have another reason to celebrate today. Let us put some party into our otherwise, hectic  work life. Today is ‘Gorgeous Grandma Day’, the perfect occasion to celebrate.

What comes to your mind when you think of your grandma? Her old eyes? Her warm smile piercing through the wrinkles? The sparkling eyes that penetrate kindness? These have been the notions we have always linked to our grandparents, especially grannies. But, aren’t we doing extreme injustice to them, by just identifying them with only their old age neglecting the all over charm they possess. Today, we are here to celebrate, to credit our senior friends, more than what the wrinkles project, but the sweetest personality there could ever be.

Not only our grandmas, but everyone else who is of the same age deserves the celebration. The day finds its way to the mainstream by Alice Solomon, who felt people of 50 years or more, get neglected and are deemed irrelevant thus she took it upon herself to propagate that they are ‘Gorgeous’ like the young folk.

Make today the best day ever for your grandma! No needs of spending lavishly but the aim is to make them feel out-of-the-world. Today is their day, and they should be the queen, in whatever gets planned. Also, spread the word to everyone you know, and let us celebrate all the ‘Gorgeous Grandmas’ in our lives.
