The new year celebrations dates back to as far as almost four millennia ago. According to the Gregorian Calendar, we celebrate New Year on January 01, every year. However, the celebration for the same begins from December 31, which we know as New Year’s Eve. Different countries have follow different traditions to celebrate this day. It celebrates the passing year as well as the fresh start of the new year.
The celebration of New Year can be found in the earliest of civilisation, Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). Therefore, for them, new year came after the vernal equinox. Vernal equinox falls in late March, with the equal amount of day and night. Whereas, the Roman calendar marked March 1 as their new year. But later in the year 46 BC, Julius Caesar aligned the Roman calendar with the Sun and added ninety days. Therefore, he marked January 01 as the New Year.
How to Celebrate
Different countries have different traditions and culture that they follow to celebrate New Year. Although the most common of all is partying and watching fireworks. Many countries spend months to prepare for the new year fireworks and the results are breathtaking. People prepare special feasts to mark this day too and make resolutions that they would like to follow for the rest of the year.

Moreover, in 1997 multiple nations put forward their ideas of how to celebrate this day in joy. Innumerable countries across the world have immensely supported this cause and continue to do so.
