11 July- Amedeo Avogadro memoir, Opening of Air Force Academy and more.

Each day the world reaches a new milestone surpassing its own records. People defy normal norms and create something so magnificent that the world keeps talking about in the coming years. 1811: Italian scientist Amedeo Avogadro publishes his memoir on the molecular content of gases.

Avogadro has many significant contributions to world chemistry. He published his memoir on the molecular content of gases in the Paris Journal de physique in the year 1811. He also found the number of particles in a mole, and the number is touted as the Avogadro number. 

1955: The U.S. The Air Force Academy officially opened. 

The temporary quarters at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.

The base was created in early 1954 but was formally opened in 1955. It was the primary quarters and was later shifted to a permanent place 3 years later. The permanent site was 7 miles north from the present location. 

1960: American author Harper Lee‘s To Kill a Mockingbird was published and became a classic, noted for its sensitive treatment of a child’s awakening to racism and prejudice in the South.

‘To kill A Mockingbird’ Was the first published novel of the writer, Harper Lee. The book made its way to the silver screens in 1962. To date, the book has sold more than 40 million copies in more than 40 translated languages. Lee won the Pulitzer Prize for the book. 

1975: Archaeologists unearth an army of 8,000 life-size clay figures created more than 2,000 years ago for the Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

As per Wikipedia, Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor. Other pits had the remains of officials, acrobats, strongmen, and musicians. The terracotta army had more than 8,000 soldiers, and 130 chariots with 150 cavalry horses. 

1995: Full diplomatic relations are established between the United States and Vietnam.

The relations between the United States and Vietnam remained severed for around two decades. In 1995, the then President of the United States announced the normalization of diplomatic relations between the US and Vietnam. The Permanent Normal Trade Relations were approved by Congress in January 2007.
